Governor's May Revise, Current Legislation and Advocacy: What You Need to Know | 8:30am-11:30am
(3 Hours, Held by Zoom)
Join us on May 21 for an update on the Governor’s May Revise, current legislation of greatest importance to the field, ECE workforce and your role in advocacy. Speakers will include Patrick MacFarlane, Government Relations Manager for the Child Care Resource Center and members of CAAEYC’s Public Committee.
Here is one example of how important your role in advocacy is:
Promoting Mixed Delivery -- Senator Leyva is is authoring a bill (SB 976), which will establish universal preschool in California, giving parents the option to send their child to a public elementary school provider or a community-based provider to benefit from universal transitional kindergarten. If passed, this will give parents more choices and include all types of programs in providing TK.
Workshop Format: this workshop is will be held by Zoom and will include breakout groups following the May Revise update. We look forward to having you with us. The workshop will be fully recorded and the link will be sent to all registrants.
